Project Overview
Specialist Tunnel Excavation successfully introduced both surface mining and utility trench excavation with tracked trenchers into Sydney’s major tunnel projects. The application has become the chosen method for a number of the current major projects.
Through a number of trials and surface projects over four years, the first machines were mobilised to M4 westconnex in 2017 and continued through to the new M5 and most recently M4-M5 link tunnel, where we were engaged to excavate the decline ramp at approximately halfway along the route.
